Transferring Money Abroad

As I don’t live in my home country there are situations that arise where I want to transfer money from the UK to the USA or vice versa. Any situation that involves moving your hard earned cash across the world can be a little stressful, as you want to make sure that the provider your using is legitimate! So I thought it would be useful to do a review on the online service that I use and why I use them.

At first I was going to attempt to do these kind of transfers through my bank but after some research saw that there was quite a high service fee involved and it can take up to a week to transfer depending on what bank you are with. So I started to explore online services that would complete the transfer for me but a lot of them either they didn’t have a great exchange rate or the reviews of the service weren’t great.

Then I came across a website called Transfer Wise , an online transferring service who are really up and coming within their industry. I’m a big believer in Trust Pilot reviews and when I looked the company up there I was pleasantly surprised to see that of the 40,000+ reviews they had, 97% of them were rating the service as Excellent/Great.

I’ve used the service three times now and can say it is completely hassle free and so easy to use their site. They have a fantastic exchange rate as they use the mid-market rate and their service charges are very reasonable even with larger amounts of money!

What else do you need to know…

• It takes 5 minutes to set up an account with them
• Transfers are simple to do and they do them as fast as possible (all of mine have taken 2 business days, but this may vary from country to country)
• They keep you updated via email about your transfer through the entire process
• You can store recipients to make it faster for your next transfer
• If you invite 3 friends to use the service and they all sign up and transfer £200, they will get a £500 transfer for free and you get £50 as a reward
